Good Thursday Morning, Everybody!
Edited on Thu Jan-05-06 05:32 AM by Clintmax
:donut::hi:
I hope you have had a great night! Here we are at day 6 of 2006 and I STILL can't keep myself from writing "05" when I write the date. x( This happens every January. Everyone's dates look like they have been written by a 5 year old or something. :rofl:

I walked into the store yesterday afternoon and the big floor move scheduled for Sunday had already been started. What I saw did look VERY nice, so I think I'm going to like the way the sales floor is going to be set up once we get it complete! :woohoo:

1. Good Morning Captain!
I'm glad the floor move was well underway when you arrived.

Lucky me ~ I haven't written a check this year so I've avoided the '05 problem.

:hi::hug:
I have to write the date on almost everything I do at work, so I'm constantly writing the date. Hopefully I'll get it straight in my head SOON. :rofl: How are this morning?

16. I'm a little more awake than usual this AM.
I was walking on my treadmill while watching the morning news instead of posting on DU.

I haven't even fixed my first cup of coffee yet.

I knew my time on the treadmill would be interrupted if I started out with coffee.

So now I've started my day out by raising my metabolism ...
answering all of my PMs and replying to my old post.

26. It was there for both of us.
One of my friends often commented that my life changes on a dime. I've found the secret to my happiness is not to let other things become overwhelming during the transition. I feel like I'm moving uphill right now but it will pass along with the disappointments and aggravation.

BTW ~ I'll find a parrot free environment to speak with you when you call. I find that it sometimes takes a minute to find a quite place for phone calls but I do enjoy hearing from my friends.

Wonderful to see you today.

We've just been trying to help my barking mad Ukrainian office-mate in buying a lap-top for some friends back home - she didn't quite get what voltage difference meant. :banghead:

Glad that things are jolly with work.

22. Vino rosso per favore
That's about all the Italian one really needs.

Especially in the major tourist spots like Venice, Florence, Rome they all seem to speak English - out in the country it's more fun where very few do so and one does have to do the whole pigeon-Italian, with occasion switches into school-boy French and Latin.

Part of me would like to live in Italy for a while, but part of me can't leave my beloved England for very long.

A few. The staff at the hotel counter did, and I used them quite a bit for directions and suggestions. Like I said though...I got pretty good after a while.

46. I've had to satisfy myself with some Italian music for now.
I don't have very much on my M.P.3 player yet - but I'm on Monteverdi's Vespers of Our Lady, which will keep me going until well after lunch.

I'm not sure whether I'll be able to make it to Italy this year though - certainly there won't be a whole family jolly there during the summer. :(

50. Hopefully, we WILL.
Last year, we went in March and it was still cold. I want to go in summer this time so I don't freeze my little butt off! We have a new mp3 player too, and I have quite a bit on it, but I don't listen to it very often. I can't listen while I'm on the sales floor at work, and when I'm at home I have a stereo and my computer to listen to...so not much need for ME to use it, but Greekspeak can use it quite a bit at school and the gym.

54. Are you going back to Rome, or exploring further elsewhere?
My favourite Italian city has to be Florence - but there are so many which are gorgeous in so many different ways.

I'm still getting stuff onto mine - there's about 3 gig on at the moment, and I'm just starting to work through my C.D. collection. Apart from the portability, it's probably best for longer pieces (such as the Vespers I've got on now) which go over 1 C.D. - there's no irritating break while I switch over.
