On January 4, 2006, Bonneville International announced a series of changes to better meet the news, information and classical music needs of radio listeners in the Washington, D.C. community. Below is an outline of the changes announced by Bonneville:
• WTOP, 24-Hour News Station
o Currently on 1500 AM and 107.7 FM
o Beginning at noon on January 4, 2006, WTOP’s new permanent frequency will be 103.5 FM
o It will be temporarily simulcast on 103.5 FM, 1500 AM and 107.7 FM until the new Washington Post Radio station is launched
