3. Am hoping she went to ER
Edited on Fri Jan-06-06 12:22 AM by Whoa_Nelly
and it will be later or tomorrow before she posts again...

What happened to her and all the complaints she had afterward were worthy of inmediate attention...

It's had me worried, too

2. Hope she's OK
Sounds like she could have done some real damage!

But let's hope not and send her all our good vibes, white light and prayers.

We want her back whole and healthy.

Khash.

8. Hey, thanks...
You all made me cry.

I'm going to tough it out. I soaked in some bath and iced it for a while. Doesn't hurt as bad now. If the pain continues, I will visit the hospital.

Thanks, y'all.

10. *Cry*
I can't believe how compassionate you all are. I'll set my alarm. If I don't wake up, it will wake my parental units up.

13. If in the AM you still
have a headache, are woozy, and/or can't straighten up your neck, but have to go to school, go see the school nurse and tell her/him what happened.

14. My two guy friends made me go get an ice pack.
One was freaking out. He's on the football team, and he got facemasked in a game. The coach instantly put ice on his neck and stuff... and my friend thought that the injury sounded pretty close to it.

I dunno about that, though.

I think you guys are worrying too much. I've pulled through some bad nicks and knacks.

21. What you described happening and the after effects
Edited on Fri Jan-06-06 01:49 AM by Whoa_Nelly
are not trivial nicks and knacks...

on edit:
Not to be nagging you dear Mini. As a parent I realized way early on that with your child you always take physical injurioes seriously. You only get to get it wrong once, and that's not a chance I was ever willing to take.

16. Ice immediately for any injury such as yours
is always a good idea. Ice is pretty effective the first 12 hours. Helps reduce swelling and bruising/bleeding.

20. And the nurse didn't call your mom?
Am a retired teacher. It's the school's job to call a parent when a student is injured on school property...pretty much standard procedure.

22. I don't think she saw any need to...
I didn't have a headache, no sign of brusing (One bruise on my shoulder thanks to my other friend, a few days prior...), and I wasn't really complaining that much. I didn't see the big deal. I've landed on my neck before, and it's been fine a day or two.

23. IMO, nurse made the wrong call
Edited on Fri Jan-06-06 01:52 AM by Whoa_Nelly
The thing about head/neck injuries is that the effects can take up to 1-2 hours to show up. And many times injuries of any kind have blocked pain due to the rush of endomorphins.

So, make a return visit to the nurse tomorrow if you are in pain, etc.

Once more...
