Civillian Outsourcing For Denver Police On The Way
(Denver, CO) -- CSI Denver. Soon, several-dozen civilian volunteers could be collecting fingerprints and DNA. The idea is to let them work property-crime scenes, while Denver Police handle more serious matters. Almost 400 people have signed up to work alongside officers, mostly on routine stuff like data entry. But Chief Gerry Whitman wants to expand the program to things like directing traffic around accidents. Already, there's a volunteer pilot helping keep the police helicopter in the air.

How do you feel about this? Evidently the qualification are the same as joining the police dept. I have a little problem with secrecy.
