Credit card question --
I have a credit card with Capital One. I am sick of their bullshit and I am looking for a new credit card.

Does anyone have a credit card that they really like and could recommend??

Thanks.

1. Capital One sucks.
I like my Amex Blue ok. And I have several Bank One/Chase and Citibank cards that I also like ok. My Citibank AT&T card pays 5% cash back on groceries, gas & drugstore purchases so I think that's a pretty good one.

2. Cards from Simmons First Bank of Pine Bluff, Arkansas
used to be the lowest rates in the nation, but you have to have tip-top credit to get it. (Translation: ChoralScholar does not have one)

6. In their defense, they alerted me to identity theft 2.5 years ago.
And they were EXTREMELY helpful in the process of dealing with the BS. Far more than my local police and OODLES more than Sprint. This was before it was AS common, and the police/DA were BAFFLED as to how to handle it and literally did a whole lot of nothing.

Capitol One received an application with my info on it and called me... asking if I'd applied. After going over the info on the application, it was clear that I'd been "hit". Thankfully, because of their quick notification, I was able to find a fraudulent Sprint account that had been opened using my info around the same time, and get alerts added to my CBR's to prevent further damage.

So, for that... I thank them.

8. We have always had good luck with Citi cards.
And a low rate, and they don't drive up the rate the second a payment is late. That could be because we don't carry much of a balance and always pay it off, but I think they have pretty good customer service.

For my business I use Huntington (MNB does their bankcard stuff).

10. How about a Democratic Party credit card?
I got one of those. Can't tell you much about it, I've only used it once. I just thought it was a good idea.

11. What exactly are you looking for in a card?
MrsGrumpy's post makes a good point. I use credit cards for everything and pay them off every month so I look for good reward programs and good customer service. I'm not really concerned about finance rates because I don't carry a balance. Different cards will be better for different types of use.
