Just returned from Aruba...Great vacation site. |
|
B-)
We just got back from 2 week holiday vacation in Aruba. This place is one of the most beautiful vacation spots in the world. Lovely beaches, great people and no reason to boycott.
Although I was feeling under the weather the whole 2 weeks (more on that later, maybe) I had a great time just relaxing and enjoying the sites. Highly recommended.

1. You mean you came back alive? |
|
Just jokin.
I was there in the 70s and would love to go back. Was thinking of it last summer but the air fares were way high, and we're a family of four.

2. The reason we picked Aruba was because of the boycotts. |
|
Just a bunch of whining idiots who wouldn't admit that a certain young woman made some very bad choices. :eyes:
We searched but couldn't find any sign of her.

5. well, she may have made |

questionable choices (as young people do), but there's certainly more to the story than just her actions. I agree that the boycott idea is ludicrous. I've only been to the airport in Aruba on our way to Bonaire. What I've been told is that the diving in Aruba isn't that great. Though the island is probably prettier than Bonaire -- which is very arid and scrubby. But Bonaire's diving is amazing. We've been there 3 times.

3. Did you see my sister? |

Tell her she needs to call me. Nothing urgent, just don't tell my mother.

7. I'm Also At Odds With the Boycott |
|
I watch very little television and I hadn't paid much attention to the Natalie Holloway story. Judging from the background noise, it sounded like an innocent young Sunday School-attending, virtuous young white woman had been brutally abducted and murdered while she was walking down a sidewalk earnestly studying her Bible during an afternoon promenade.
After reading the report in Vanity Fair, I was far less surprised that she ran into trouble. Too much drinkin' and partyin' with strangers in the early hours is a way for anyone to find their way into trouble.
I don't know if the Aruban authorities are holding anything back or not. I am, however, skeptical that an Aruban who went missing in a rural Alabama county run by a clutch of good ol' boys would have seen the best efforts of local, state, and federal law enforcement to find out what happened and catch the villains who did it.
For that reason, I do not support the boycott.
