I started (casually) collecting old photos of unknown people more than 20 years ago. I find them very evocative and they are becoming more and more difficult to find. Back in the day, I could just go to Goodwill and find boxes of photos to rummage through. Not anymore and I'm not sure why. Now I tend to find only VERY old photos in Antique stores. The ones I have are quite dear to me, despite having my own family now.
