Over a field training exercise. I would commonly come back so nasty that I would I get into the shower with my uniform on, boots and all, and drag most of my gear in with me just to get the mud off.
Another time I came back in similar funk and filth, but was headed over to the house of a boyfriend. I couldn't remember exactly how to get to his house, as I was very tired, but I could remember his neighbor's house. His neighbor's house was very distinctive and rather well-known, so I thought I would ask some people how to get to it.
So there I was, trudging up to a frat house with a bunch of guys skateboarding in front of it, in full uniform with a rucksack and everything, covered in mud... and asking "Which way to the Hare Krishna House?"
Fun times, fun times!

14. I've never gone more than1-2 days without taking a bath |
|
Edited on Sat Jan-07-06 03:37 PM by Cats Against Frist
But I can stand to not wash my hair, quite often, only every 7-10 days. Maybe like 2-3 times a season. I never go anywhere.
On edit: I mean, I only let it go that long 2-3 times a season, not that I only wash it 2-3 times a season.

15. Five or six days. I was in the Gulf, 1991, and we were on a |
|
desert training exercise; this was to get accustomed to operating the M1 Abrams in a desert setting as opposed to the European terrain we were used to.
Five days or so. We got pretty ripe. I grew jam where I didn't know I had places. By the end of the train-up, when we got back to the rear with an operational shower tent, we were walking around in little clouds of noxious vapor. I'd been around camels that smelled better.
If you ever need proof that a hot bath or shower is a gift from God, try sharing the interior of a tank for five days with three other guys who smell as bad as you, or worse.

But it was an M-60A1 in the Philippines.
Then there was the jungle survival training which lasted ten days.

If you mean submerging or standing under a stream of water, I've gone 9 weeks. Sacrificing a little drinking water to quell the stench I can only last about 4 days.

24. I think a few days since I've been an adult |
|
When I was a younger kid, I didn't really like bathing. My mother only made me shower once a week if I wasn't too smelly. I sometimes wonder if that is why she got me into swimming. Now, getting into the shower every morning is a routine.

26. About the same for me. |

I was sick as a dog and lifting my arms was next to impossible. I had some sort of German measles or something like that when I was a kid. I almost died twice with it. It lasted for a solid month. I almost failed first grade because of missing so many days. Luckily at the time the preacher that ran the place let me do my school work at home to pass. He was the "Nice Preacher." Asshole Preacher took over later and my illnesses, constant viruses, caused me nothing but grief. I missed the Nice Preacher.

29. 3 days during an ice storm |
|
We had no power (at my house) for 11 days. The water pumping station for the city was down 3 days. We put snow in buckets to melt so we could put in the tank to use the toilet in the house. Shell, you may remember the ice storm in 1994? Oxford, MS was obliterated.
