Does anyone here have one of those new Gateway convertible laptops?
I'm going to be coming into some money soon, and they look really neat. I can fold the screen down and use it to take notes on. Does anyone have any experience with these machines?

1. I used a different model of tablet PC and liked it a lot
I like the tablet style interface, especially when taking notes in a meeting. That way, I can look directly at the person I am listening to, and write notes as I would in a notebook without having the laptop display between me and them, and without the distracting noise of the keyboard.

So I can use it to take class notes. I can't do it on a keyboard because I can't type worth a shit. I also figure that having one of these machines would make Game mastering a bit easier, as well.

3. Wow, it would be great for GMing!
I hadn't even thought of that!

What games do you GM for?

I have a RPG based on the Britcom Red Dwarf, and I got Modern D20 for Xmas.

For the latter, I'm working on an adventure set aboard a Great Lakes Carferry. Let's just say that they better be careful where they aim in the boiler room. High pressure steam boilers have this nasty habit of violently exploding when you put a hole in them. (Thank Eris that I have a brother that once worked in a shipyard.)

5. The tablet would be good for maps and diagrams
Being able to draw where the characters are, determine line of sight, and being able to draw, erase, draw, erase without rubbing a hole in the map could be very advantageous.
