I just got back from seeing 'Munich'
Good film. 2 things:

1) If its message is peace it sure didn't work on me - I took great delight in watching those terrorist fucks get shot to pieces.

2) This guy is going to be the best Bond ever

1. Thanks, I've been wondering about that one.
It's one of those films that I'm leery of, good but depressing.

2. Well, I thought their guilt was supposed to be ambiguous
They kept pointing out that they had never been given proof that they were terrorists - all they were told was that they were guilty without any evidence, something that bothered both Avner and Carl.

And actually in real life, an Israeli military historian who has done extensive research on the Munich reprisals has concluded that only one of the people assassinated by the Mossad were actually associated with the attacks - the rest were completely innocent and were relativley minor PLO officials.

The film isn't as firm on the subject of their guilt - it's implied, but the question is left somewhat open.

3. I've got a question...
WHO PLAYED THE DUTCH FEMALE? IN THE BAR AND ON THE HOUSEBOAT? If Daniel Craig needs a Bond girl, he could do worse.

16. Have you seen Layer Cake?
Daniel Craig totally rocks in it. Check it out if you haven't already. Very cool and convoluted flick. :)

8. I didn't realize that was Daniel Craig until your post. *spoiler*
Edited on Sat Jan-07-06 06:10 PM by Kire
He was pretty good, but I didn't buy that he was a Jew. In the safe house in Athens when they bumped into the other crew, I thought Hans said that Steve (Daniel Craig) was from Africa or something. I could buy that he was Afrikaans or something, but he was too blond hair/blue eyed to be Jewish, but then again, I don't know anything. There probably are lots of blond hair/blue eyed Jewish people in the world. Eric Bana and Geoffrey Rush I could believe were Jewish, though.

Also, I was surprised at how funny the movie was.

And, last but not least, I thought it was a very plausible portrayal of PTSD toward the end. I wouldn't wish it on anybody, but it was hauntingly beautiful.

10. True, he looked like some Scottish Merc
but other than his non-Jewishness, I defintely saw the Bond capacity in him - the Dalton type of Bond over that stupid git Moore's Bond
