Poll question: An asshat at a club I was at Friday night narked on his own Uncle... |
|
There was a police officer there. She was observed answering her phone after the nark dialed. She asked what the perp was wearing and how much "weed" he was carrying. The nark was observed describing his Uncle's clothing. The officer made a call for the on-duty police who made the bust and she later admitted to several people exactly who'd turned the man in.

2. I sort of doubt that, Sweety, since he's done prison time, too. |

that there are as many former DARE students in prison for drug crimes as non-DARE students. (Um, yeah, I think DARE is basically a mis-use of funds.)

I have heard some of those programs were a fiasco!

9. I'm sure I'll be flamed for this later, |
|
but I believe DARE exists for one reason: to encourage kids to narc out their parents and neighbors in order to perpetuate the already gargantuan prison industrial complex. It's the whole "serpant eating its tale" thing, and I _loathe_ it. Just tell kids the truth about drugs.

17. Here's the dumbest thing I've ever heard a DARE official say: |
|
"If it costs us $1 million to keep one kid off of drugs, it will have been worth it." :eyes:
Would we accept such skewed logic from educators? If a school superintendent said, "If it costs us $1 million to teach one kid math, it will have been worth it," we'd fire his/her excuse-makin', money-grubbin' butt. :grr: End of rant. (Sorry.)

14. The thing that chaps my a$$ |
|
is that pot is _not_ the gateway drug that most DARE officers make it out to be. Nicotine and alcohol are the true gateway drugs, and I'd even go so far as to say the prescription medications we willingly give our children so often these days give kids a "drugs are OK" attitude. :grr: I believe _some_ kids truly need prescription medication, but we've raised a generation of young 'uns who haven't been un-medicated since they were five or six years old. I'd like very much to see how much money Big Pharma spends on marketing these drugs to parents, kids and doctors.

His own Son was there and told others he was going to kick his sperm donor's ass. He does not use his father's last name, because the asshole has never supported him.
