but lay on your stomach flat, not using your arms, start lifting your shoulders & Head backward but you have keep them straight when doing this. I've done this before to pop my back and it's felt pretty good afterwards, you might try it, but try at your own risk.

2. I have surgery Wednesday. |
|
I have disk problems in my lumbar spine. I'm having a needle procedure done on Wednesday--I can't deal with it any more. Pain sucks.

but I'm afraid I might. No real problems so far, but a lot of subluxated discs. I pop real good. :eyes:
Hope it goes well for ya, Maddy. Pain does indeed suck.

15. I have pain in my back, hip, thigh, and calf... |
|
and I've lost all feeling in my right foot. It's time for me...
I had an MRI in 2001 that showed that I have disk bulges. I've been able to manage it up to now with Flexoril, Naprosyn, and Lortabs and bedrest. About a month ago, though, the pain started and the bedrest and meds didn't help.
The procedure I'm having Wednesday is a needle procedure. Hopefully I'll be able to avoid "big" surgery a bit longer.
Thanks for your kind wishes. I'll report late next week and let ya know how it goes.

8. Another trick that works |
|
Sit on any chair. Place both hands on the outer edge of your left knee and use it to turn your body firmly to the right (and/or do this in the opposite direction). With luck you should get one or more of the vertebrae in your lower back to crack.
Now if only there were a safe, easy way to crack one's own neck...

11. I know the chair twist one |
|
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Once in awhile I can pop my neck just by turning it, but it always feels like it's loosening my neck and eventually my head's gonna fall off.
And sometimes I can lie down with my back and shoulders elevated a bit and flex my glutes in a certain way and the lowermost discs will pop. The bathtub's really good for that; maybe the hot water helps.

14. The neck rotation trick sometimes works for me too |
|
But it's nothing compared to a chiropractic adjustment. Unfortunatly I don't have $37 to toss away every time I have a migraine or tension in my neck so I make do with what I have.

I sit in a chair (my office chair works the best) that comes up to right under the shoulder blades and I lean back as far as I can while putting my arms over my head. Be careful, though, if you do it wrong you can make your back hurt. But if you do it right... AHHHhhhhhhhh!

I am having the same problem, however I know that mine is not going to go away anytime soon being 4 months pregnant. However I wish that you had my luck, both my mother and father in laws are Naturopathic doctors and specialize in Chinese Medicine and work with releases and accupressure and I will be having her work on me after church. The really do help out with the back and neck problems that I have. I hope that you get to feel better!!

And it feels good even if my back doesn't hurt or need to pop.
Sit on the edge of a couch, sturdy chair or bed; lean back and slide off over the edge, lowering yourself slowly (have to control it with legs) until you end up sitting on the floor. If the edge of the couch/chair/bed hasn't reached your shoulders, then scoot your butt forward while you are sitting on the floor, until it does.
For me, the harder the "edge" of the chair, couch or bed, the better this feels. Though I suppose that is a matter of personal preference.

You know, those big exercise balls? Lay back on it and roll back and forth.
This works for me when mine gets Rice Krispies. The ball also helps firm up my abdominals, and so I need to pop the back less and less.

21. Personally, I have found the right chiropractor |
|
to be good for the ones I can't get myself (rare). Usually, I can twist radially, or place my thumbs at the base of my spine and bend backward about 290 degrees ....

No kidding. I have to pop my back once a day just to feel normal most of the time.
