In The Reins- Iron And Wine/Calexico
I just got this through a friend and man, what a fantastic record; Calexico really give Sam Beam's wonderful songs the fleshing out they've always needed, and "History Of Lovers" is a big, fat, gooey musical peanut butter and jelly sandwich, even through the murder ballad lyrics.

Buy this one, folks...

1. Just saw them on PBS the other night.
And I've a live record of them with Neko Case doing Stinging Velvet.

2. I've never been a fan of either artist(s) individually
But that record is great. An excellent combination of the best traits of both.

3. absolutely
I've been a Calexico from way back (living in Phoenix in the 90's), and Iron And Wine's stuff has always been good, but wow!

4. Love Calexico, don't much care for Iron & Wine.
I think it's the beard.

Nonetheless, I'll give this a listen - your recs are usually spot-on, and *one* of my friends must surely have a copy of it.
