I saw "Match Point" yesterday. It was great! |

Though I am a pretty big Woody Allen fan, this work was a lot different than many of his past films. Great use of suspense in the film. I don't think he's ever tackled that genre before.
One word of warning though, Allen must be a pretty cynical and miserable guy these days because it shows given the general sentiment of the movie. If you can't really deal with that tone than perhaps you should skip this one...

I'm so excited to have a Woody Allen film getting lots of publicity again. "The Curse of the Jade Scorpion" and "Anything Else" were as good as straight-to-video films over here, and "Hollywood Ending" has never opened.
BBC Radio had a 2-part series last month on his stand-up years. There wasn't much material that isn't on the "Stand Up Comic" CD, but you do forget how brilliant he was.
Per an interview I read the other day, he thinks his next film ("Scoop") is crap although he tried to get "Manhattan" withdrawn becuase he hated it so you can't really trust his judgement!
(btw - UK DUers, "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex * But Were Afraid to Ask" is on BBC1 Tuesday night)

2. This and his next 2 films were all filmed in Britain (London I believe) |
|
The film looked beautiful so I think he has a thing for the UK now :)

3. Is it similar to 'Crimes and Misdemeanors'? |
|
That's one of my favorites.
p.s. some arsewipe on another board "spoiled" it for me but I still will go see it.
