Surprise! Fantastic Four's script doesn't suck!
I have noticed over the past few years, it seems that nobody is even bothering to write clever dialogue into scripts. Even the James Bond movies, which were a repository for impeccably-timed dry puns have just, well, run dry.

Another good example of this phenomenon is the "Mummy" franchise. Here was an opportunity to take a bit of a piss at the campy "swashbuckler" genre, and have a good time in the process. Did anyone bother? No. I'd rather have been sucked dry the Mummy itself than by the script.

However, the Fantastic Four was a clever screenplay, which poked fun at the 'superpowers' of the lead characters without being over-the-top (as much as can be done in a story about superheroes).

I actually enjoyed it. Which is saying enough.

1. the actors were awful
which made it a pretty funny movie. I was laughing pretty hard during some of the botched lines.

Jessica Alba is not awful
I would just prefer her to act in her underwear.

2. My wife and I went to see it in the theatre and both liked this movie.
It is what it is...it's not "Dr. Zhivago", nor does it pretend to be.
