2. I wonder...
I heard a couple of references to Leo's health in this episode. Was this edited in retroactively, or do you think they were just kinda deja vu about this whole thing? Its weird and uncanny.

4. No, it wasn't edited- he had actually been written as having
a heart attack in an earlier episode.

7. The beginning was so sad
I'm glad the episode ended on a high note for Leo, because it was really depressing otherwise. :(

11. At the very beginning, Martin Sheen talked to the audience
about John Spencer's death and how much they missed him.
He then said that they would show the remaining episodes of his work
in a tribute to him.

I'm paraphrasing, but this was the general concept.

In the show tonight, Leo's vp debate rehearsals were a disaster and the
team lowered expectations in the press (turned out Leo is the one who
leaked his poor practice sessions). In the end, he did a great job
in the debate!!! Pulled it off brilliantly...

Of interest, his moment of glory in the debate was when his health problem
was raised as an issue and he said that he was fortunate to have good
health care, whereas many Americans still needed it. The handlers watching the
debate on TV said, "He didn't answer the question." But the answer was so moving that
Josh said, "It doesn't matter."

16. no, he had been thinking about running
before and even came to the white house to get Jed's support. They had Josh tell him no which led to problems when he was in NH campaigning with Santos.

25. Indeed.
It was a nice send off for the character as well. The old warhorse riding to victory one last time.

Nice to see Toby, briefly. I really miss him.
