I rescued a dog this weekend.
Her name is Cocoa. She's a 5 month-old pit bull terrier. Brown brindle with a white chest and one white paw. She's beautiful. Sweet and timid and gentle and kind. Here are a few pics I took with my crappy cell phone camera:

Isn't she gorgeous?

1. Awwww, she looks just like my sister's dog Tessla
Tessla had to be put down unfortunately, just because of some bad health problems, but she was such a wonderful dog! Good on you for adopting her.

21. What I know is
Her mother was initially rescued by an organization in IL after having been seized from a "bad owner" (no details given) and she was pregnant. Homes were found for all the pups in the litter, including Cocoa. She was in a happy home for about 2 months and the family had some extenuating circumstances that caused them to have to move to a new community in which pit bulls are banned :(. The woman placed an ad on Craigslist and had to give her back to the rescue organization. She was in foster care for about a month when we got her this weekend.

She's mostly housebroken and needs leash training. She does this somewhat comical move when she gets timid on the leash. She just lies down and looks up at me with those eyes as if to say "I'm too scared to go that way".
