Martin Scorsese fans remind me again why
Raging Bull is so much better than Shawshank Redemption or Schindler's List.

1. Personally I found Raging Bull to be rather depressing
Jake LeMott was one twisted individual.

3. I'm a film idiot.
I actually thought that Ordinary People was a better movie. Deserved the Oscer. But it isn't even listed in the top 100 movies, and raging bull is what,

2. DeNiro's performance was superlative
As was the photography... and not just because it was black and white.

But, "better"? Says who?

5. Why is DeNiro's scene when he's yelling something like
"I'm not an animal" supposed to be better than Mary Tyler Moore's scene when she's trying to pack her clothes after realizing that she does hate her son, and her husband can't live with her because of it?

7. You're NOT a Martin Scorsese fan? The shame, the shame

Martin is god. I'm sorry. I hate when people are overrated. I don't think he is.

Spielberg is also great. Altough Schindlers' isn't his best flick, to me anyway.

Frank Darabont is a self absorbed bore. Shawshank was good. But it's only worth seeing once. Unlike most Scorsese or Spielberg films. I had to jump on this thread because 2 of the people in it are who I consider the 3 wise men of filmmaking. My favorite directors

Steven

Martin

Richard
