26 hours of music on my player, and it has picked it's own favorites
MY player has developed an affinity for Nanci Griffith, John Prine, and Jackson Browne. I throw it on random play and it will always play these three artist over and over, there are some songs I only hear if I play them myself.
It's okay, I put the music there to hear, but occasionaly I need to hear somone else.

1. The same happened to mine.
In the beginning, to seemed to play nothing but Elvis Costello, Bau, Paolo Conte, the the Bealtes' "Ticket to Ride". I'd load a CD, and it would be a month before I'd hear anything from it. With time, it'll move to other artists.

2. I've often, datawise, how random is random?
Are there file markers that prioritizes the mp3s so that some would be hit on more than others? Or is it file location on the physical hard drive?

3. Do you have more of those artists than others?
Because my iTunes would seem to land on Bad Religion more than anything else, until you looked at the library and see that it contains all 17 or so of their albums.

7. No, not really
Maybe more Prine than the other two, but, there is more of other people on here they don't play as much. There is more Steely Dan, and Pink Floyd than the others and they don't land there nearly as often.

8. That's why I hate putting mine on random
It seems to always pick instrumental jazz albums instead of putting on say, Led Zeppelin, Depeche Mode, or Pink Floyd.
