Loved it. Cried my ass off.

The best part of it was how everyone in the theater turned gay at the end.

1. I read this "review" on another message board:
Brokeback Mountain is "OK".

Totally forgot it was Ang Lee that made it until the credits.

Pretty deep film.

3. The theater I'm going to see it in will be in Boystown....
so, the conversion at the end will be minimal. :-(

This weekend, for sure.

15. Mine was at The Grove / Farmer's Market in LA.
So it was a mixed group. After the movie was over we ran into a friend of ours and his partner. This was good because we set our 'gay rays' to full throttle. There wasn't a straight person left that place.

At one point all the lisping sounded like steam escaping.

4. I saw it yesterday, too, in a sold-out house.
There was not a lot of work for the secret infralavendar rays to do, however. It was like a who's-who of gay richmond in there!

I really enjoyed the movie.

6. They can't show it in Henrico
since there are no gays there.

7. I am going to see the movie one day this week,
I am going with two gay friends, I guess that will make two gays going in and three gays going out.

8. They won't show it here. Too worried about the children
and the whole 'turning gay at the end thing'.

I saw it twice, so I turned gay, then turned back.

9. Hmmmm. Were there alot of toasters in the lobby on the way out?
I bet the local appliance store's shelves were devoid of toasters after that one...

:D

Mr. CB and I want to go and see it this week as it finally came to our liberal, Southern college town. Everyone seems to give it a great review. :)

edit: If it turns us gay can we still be married? Or, will we simply have to see it a second time to turn back straight? :eyes:

11. So did you turn straight afterwards?
I figured if gay people went to see Brokeback Mountain it might have a bizarro effect on them and turn them into straight people

I can't wait to see it, hopefully this weekend!

12. I saw it the first weekend it opened

Went by myself on a very, very cold Saturday afternoon -- hubby refuses to see it (go figure). The house was packed. It was showing in an area of town that is a major gay hangout. The audience was pretty mixed as far as being gay or straight, perhaps leaning toward more gay than straight. I loved it. The audience applauded when it was over.

:hi: Lynne!

13. Well I'm sure it'll run in Philly for awhile
but for now I can see it in North Wilmington. I think JimmyJazz wants to go because she is a major Heath Ledger fan.

:hi: to you too

When are you coming back to the east coast!!

14. A bunch of us from the KOEB are meeting up in NY
Feb. 17-20. I can't wait. It should be a great time. I wonder if we could plan a broader NYC DU meet-up for that weekend...hmmm...that's a thought.

16. You know, we were going to do something on the 4th of Feb but...
it turns out there is going to be a protest in DC and we might go to DC instead of NYC. But the thing is, JimmyJazz and I want to get to NYC so we can go to Bleeker Street Records where they had some incredible collection of the music we love. So you know, that might not be a bad idea. I wanted to go to NYC to see this band play, but told JJ I'd go to DC as long as we'd make a trip up to NYC so we can get to the store.

This could be our excuse!

18. I saw it and liked it. I'm waiting for my gay-ness to kick in.
Edited on Mon Jan-09-06 01:33 PM by Scout1071
I'm hoping it happens this week while I'm in Key West. If it's going to happen anywhere, it's going to happen in Key West!

Edited to note that since I didn't turn gay right away, I'm thinking it might be like a virus or something that will hit in a few days after contracting.

Also, if I don't like being gay, can I go see "Passion of the Christ" or something to be straight again?

22. No, but I've got a helluva throwing arm.
And I've always been a bit of a tomboy. And I've got a serious crush on a few ladies...Angelina Jolie, Diana Krall and Norah Jones.
