Poll question: Tattoos, piercings
I personally don't see the attraction (no offense to those who do intended) on other people. I would NEVER have either done to my own body (well, maybe those wash-off tattoos, but nothing permanent). How many of you have tattoos/piercings (no details needed, thanks).

1. None.
I'm neutral about them on other people -- some look good, some don't, depends on the person and what was done -- until you start getting into that big-hole-in-the-earlobe stretchy thing. Blech. (If you wanna do that to yourself, I won't stop you, but I probably won't hire or date you, either.)

77. Alkaline Trio = some good music!!
I'm not sure whether to classify them as (pop?)punkish... or rock... or alternative?

All I know is they have their own style. I can relate to so much of what they say. Its not about wanting to skip gym class and cry because your girlfriend dumped you (like most other bands I would classify in the same genre as alk3 -- pop-punk)... Its more about real emotions that someone might feel in an angry yet passive way... Its more about punishing yourself for being so stupid... or even just knowing that there's nothing more you can do to help your situation than feel the pain and just try not to make the same mistakes again. I think that pretty much describes me. Anyway, like you said, off topic :D

I also have one on my upper arm and it was nothing compared to that hip one. Or if you don't get it somewhere else, be prepared.

Or, if you already have some, disregard this as you know what it feels like.

8 piercing's in one ear, 4 in the other, along with one eye brow.

I had my tatoo's done years ago when it was for bikers, outlaws and military guys. Since every Tom, Dick, and Jane gets them now i don't want them any more. The only 2 i would keep are my wedding ring (yes my wedding ring is a tattoo),and my family tatto. I got my tats to be different in a time when it was shunned, now i'm just like everone else. FUCK THAT! I want a do over! Thats the exact reason i do not ride a Harley any more, i now ride a Honda to be different :(

You know, it is not necessary to be different from everyone else ... I used to want that, but I came to realize it was fine to be me, whether I was similar or different from everyone else...give it some thought, you may come to see that point of view too (or not, that is cool also ...)

66. I see your point.
But i don't want to be seen a a crowd follower. I hate looking like i am going along with a trend. I AM NOT A SHEEP DAMN IT(not yelling at you, just yelling in general)! I always did things to distinguish myself from the average person. For me being me means not being like everyone else. For me the reason i got the tats was because it was unacceptable then. Now it just makes me look like a follower.

I just reckon that now i'll have to wear a long sleeved shirt the rest of my days now :(

I guess my real point being be very careful when you get tats. The true fact is you may not want them for a myriad of reasons later on. i was told that way back when, and i did not listen.....i should have. :(

71. I'm considering a tat. I think I have a design picked out.
Now I need to get my ass down to a shop and make the commitment.

75. No tattoos. One very conventional pierce per ear.
Course, I have 3 ears, so that part is a bit unusual.:silly:

88. I won't get either, because I can't donate blood afterwards for 1 year.
But that's the only reason. I like them both, and would love to get six or seven holes up my ears.

DH has tattoos, and would get more if he could find a local artist he trusts.

97. I'm thinking about doing something with the chakras.
Edited on Tue Jan-10-06 03:09 PM by crispini
The only thing is, it wouldn't be possible to get each tat over the particular chakra -- well, I guess it would, but I'm NOT getting tattoed either over the third eye or the location of the root chakra (ahem!) so I haven't decided yet whether or not the symbolism would be just as cool even if not in the right place.

Or I might just see if I could think of something with a kundalini serpent. Hmm.....
