Diet Update - after 4 weeks. |
|
The good news, I've lost between 20-25 lbs (not sure which scale to believe) and I feel good and energetic. My clothes are getting looser and I haven't cheated yet (if I did, I'd have to pay my wife a $5 fine! - that was my idea - I like to eat, but I'm even more of a cheapskate!)
The bad/scary news is, I don't feel hungry most of the time. I suppose some would consider this good news, but it scares me a bit that when I ate a lot, I didn't feel full until I was absolutely stuffed, and now with the reduced calorie diet, I've had only 680 calories total for breakfast and lunch, and I don't feel hungry. I am trying to keep my calorie intake between 1500 and 1700 a day, with a lot of carrots as snacks, but I feel as though I could be satisfied with about 1000 cal per day (which I know would bring my metabolism to a standstill and be very unhealthful.) I really envy people who are well attuned to how much food their body needs to stay at a healthy weight. I feel like if I don't monitor my intake and weight carefully, I would easily get into a habit of either overeating or undereating.
Anyway, it's nice to come through the holiday season thinner than when it started. That may be a first!

3. Not bad 1/5 (or 1/4, depending on your scale) there! |
|
I'm trying too, but I seem to be losing inches more than pounds. That's ok though, since the more muscle I have, the more glucose gets burned :)

4. No, that's good that you aren't feeling hungry! |
|
It means your body has learned to adjust to the new calorie intake. That's good news!

6. Consider that I was 270 lbs and 6'2" |
|
So a 20 lb loss is more like 10 lbs for a woman's size body, right?

7. Still, 20lbs. is a lotta weight to lose in that short amount of time. |
|
That said, hell, I'd be THRILLED to lose 10lbs in a month!!
I'm always so annoyed with how easy it is for my hubby to drop any extra weight, whereas I have to bleed, sweat and cry for every little ounce I lose. It's soooo unfair, dammit!! :bangshead:
I'm glad for you, though. You're an inspiration. :)

8. An easy way to calibrate your scale at home. |
|
Buy a five pound bag of flour and weigh it first. Then adjust the scale to weigh correctly. It will be close enough for home use.
