My dad died in 1992. The saddest part was I had just begun to come to appreciate him a few years earlier. He was a good man.

I was his little girl :)
When my parents separated, me and my brother stayed with him. My brother had his problems with him (or the other way around). I only had problems with his girlfriends.

He had a brain tumor and died within half a year. It was quick. But better quick then suffering for forever.

My dad and I didn't get along very well for a long time, but I wasn't very easy to get along with over much of that period. But we always had baseball. He gave me my love of it, and watching games together and talking about it — and especially him practicing with me when I was in Little League — are my fondest memories.

I do also of my dad. I am ok with it now. I was with him during his last days. We had the chance to say goodbye to him. It helped a lot.
