I met my best friend of now 17 years at a Flock of Seagulls show in Cincinnati in 1988...and THEN we had both gone for the *retro* appeal. :D

18. They were on VH1's "Bands Reunited" a couple years ago

The original group got back together and played a couple gigs. It was actually pretty good, seeing where they all ended up. The show actually helped to heal a rift between Mike (singer) and Ali (drums) that had existed for 15+ years.

Mike is still leading the group around the country, playing the poleshed circuit. His brother Ali is now a QA manager at a plastics factory in VA, IIRC. The bass player is off doing whatever it is that washed-up new-wave bassplayers do. Teenage guitar wunderkind Frank (the guitarist) left the group after a nervous breakdown and now gives guitar lessons back in their hometown.

BTW, Mike's voice totally sucks now but the tunes still sound the same.
