Poll question: The Baseball commisioner is infallible in matters concerning the game |
|
Edited on Tue Jan-10-06 03:19 PM by JVS
Furthermore he has authority over the interpretation of the rules as well as the power of the office of the keys by which he can bind or loose any transgressions within baseball.
He truly is the vicar of the game.

6. Basically I'm suggesting that baseball should consider the office of... |
|
commisioner as a sort of baseball-pope

3. Bud Selig is an asshole who has ruined the game |
|
Because it's all about his Milwaukee Brewers and benefitting the owners, which basically he is one of.

Back when they were talking about contraction...it is the Brewers that should have been contracted...since they do not draw for shit (even with a beautiful new stadium), not the Twins.
Selig is not my Bud.

5. Infallibility is a papal decree. |
|
Vicars are lowly priests - and Anglican, at that. :hi:

14. a.k.a. "The Bishop of Rome." |
|
He has many titles - some of the more colorful being uttered in GD.
And, although not proven, many believe that Martin Luther referred to the pope in A Mighty Fortress as "The Prince of Darkness".

15. "der alt boese Feind" could either be Satan or the Pope in the song |
|
of course given the confessional documents of the evangelical church, difference in interpretation would be small indeed. The Smalcald articles in particular make that clear

Does Selig have to wear a mitre at the winter meetings? That would make it worth it.

|
Selig succeeded where even Hitler failed. Another ten years of Butt Smellig and baseball will be indistinguishable from roller derby.

19. You may as well suggest |
|
that you think * is infallible and is the Vicar of Mer'ka.
If there's a Dog, Selig will die very, very soon and burn in South Hell.
