Poll question: When your 'partner' loses his/her job, what do you do?
Be honest. You're only human.

1. Depends
If he's actively looking for work, I'll support him absolutely. If he's lying around on the sofa drinking beer and eating pork rinds, I'll toss him out with the trash.

3. I took care of the bills when my ex lost his job
it was kind of nice having extra help around the house for a while. Eventually having him under foot got old, so I had to chase him out of the house to go spend time with his firends until he found work.

Money was tight but it wasn't a big deal.

4. Depends on their ability
to cope with the loss and go on to other things.

My ex couldn't keep a job to save his life and would change jobs every couple of years. He invariably blamed other people for his problems (Typically, he would pick someone out at is job with whom he just couldn't get along and start a feud with them.) Or work piecemeal without a 1099 or having taxes withdrawn (which I wound up making up for)Or work part time so that he really couldn't help with any of our expenses.

Whearas, if they deal with the loss think of something else to do and go do that, then it's fine. I wouldn't have a problem. Heck, I've been laid off myself.
