NY_Liberal started this, and several of us are spreading the word. This is a very good project, it will not take much from you. All you are doing is allowing researchers to use your spare CPU cycles. You down load the client, unpack it, start it and join our team, team number 48157. If you have any questions, some of the old timers will drop by to help. I will let them know about this thread.
Here is NY_Liberal's original post.

Back in 1998, I was introduced to the SETI project through some obscure website I was visiting, so I decided to try it out. It worked pretty well, but eventually I became dissatisfied with the research and results. Without getting into a discussion of the possibilities of extra terrestrial life here, I decided donating my computer time to that sort of project was a waste of time (other than proving the capability of distributed computing projects), and eventually stopped for several years. Then in the middle of 2003, I saw a reference to the Satnford projuct (Folding@Home) and decided it was a worthwhile project to donate computer resources to.??Today I noticed that Kos members set up a Folding@Home team ?
