I'm sick of tampons.

9. It sits like a cup,
up by the cervix, I think. I believe it's flexible and you just pull it out by the stem and dump it out/rinse it. It's reusable and you don't have to deal with it as frequently as a tampon. I know- none of the options available are entirely without some "ick" factor. The joys of fertility.

Maybe that would help me cope

11. I've never heard of them.
Years ago I tried the Instead Cup but it leaked so much that I never used it again. Maybe I'll give the Diva Cup a try.

15. My friend tried Instead and hated it for the same reason.
She likes the Diva Cup, though. I've yet to make the investment. I think the last time I checked they were around $30. That would easily pay for itself in a year in savings on tampons, for me.

17. Well, when I get neare the end of my supply of tampons I'll invest in one
It's worth a try, plus much friendlier for the environment.

26. aww c'mon lets go harvest some moss
Just kidding - saw your pattern on a thread a while ago - good idea. I kind of have the rep as an earth mother type, but gotta admit - washing those would get on my nerves, rather, the soak bucket would.

That ans the sewing machine has been collecting dust for nearly 20 years - dare I say it? Maybe this year - I used to love to sew. Too bad this damn computer isn't a sewing machine! I would have a hell of a lot more to show for my "liesure time" hahahaha

25. What an interesting thread this is, my dear Buffy.......
The chief benefit for me is to make me glad that I'm post-menopausal!

Good luck to the rest of you!

Don't worry.....I sure as hell paid my share of dues....:puke:

28. Why thank you my friend
I really started it to poke fun at JVS, because of this thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=105x4568894

But I can see why you are relieved not to need any of this junk. I'm tired after a mere 28 years of this mess/pain, and who knows how much longer it will continue? :scared:

31. Any grosser than other body functions?
Which I won't say by name to avoid further turning this into a "bodily function thread".

But some smilies hopefully will illustrate without causing too much harm.
