Are men like rubber bands?
In the great Gospel of Relationships, Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus, the author advises women to leave men alone, and let them dwell in their cave. He says that men are like rubber bands - that the further away they get, the stronger they come back to you.

I always thought that was bullshit, but many people have told me otherwise. So, what do you think?

1. IMHO
it is a copout...and gives men who have read the book the permission not to deal head on with their relationships...John Gray, IMHO is irresponsible.

14. There are a lot of things we should collaborate on, KW.
For example: I think we should send CA Peggy on a photographic scavenger hunt. We give her a list, and she has a day or two to post her pics.

12. Do you think it's bullshit, too?
I mean, that whole "retreat to the cave" thing - sounds more like the behavior of a classic introvert - not Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor.

17. I knew it! He's a fraud!!
"A Newsweek article reports that Gray spent nine years as a celibate monk and secretary to the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (October 2, 1995, Page 96.) Surely if you're a Beatles fan you'll remember the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi! Time ran an article in 1997 wherein it was revealed that Gray earned himself a B.A. and M.A. in the Science of Creative Intelligence from the Maharishi European Research University in Switzerland. And just what is the "Science of Creative Intelligence?" According to a timeline of chronicling the highlights of the Maharishi's campaign to establish heaven on earth, in 1971 "His Holiness" formulated the Science of Creative intelligence as the "scientific theory for the development of higher states of consciousness, which naturally develop through the practice of Trascendental Meditation." Yeah, I hear all your Harvard Medical School graduates are doing this now. Cripes! No wonder Najarian was so evasive."

 The emperor has no clothes!

15. I don't think it's a man thing, I think it's a human thing
Sometimes I wanna go hide in my cave for a day away from my SO.
Sometimes he might wanna break from me for a while.
It's normal. It's fine.

25. I agree that men need their caves....but women do, too. I do, anyway.
I don't know if I'd agree with the statemt that men are like rubberbands, though.
