New design for New York taxi
Hail to future of the cab
By A Correspondent

It may look like a space buggy, but this is one of a series of new designs for a New York taxi.

Designers were invited to come up with a new version of the iconic yellow cab to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the New York taxi next year.

Ideas include a baby seat incorporated into the cab and a roof-top duty light that makes it clearer whether a cab is vacant.

1. Absolutely ridiculous, moronic, so incredibly dumb only a designer
could come up with it.

Wheels outside the chassis are going to get ripped off left and right and cost thousands upon thousands to repair.

3. it looks really safe to me
the roundedness will help assuage impact from things that may hit the cab. if you look at safety ratings for the beetle, it's that same principal...

6. too much glass, though
to me, it looks far more dangerous than a beetle, because of all the glass. I'm no auto manufacturer, of course, but it just strikes me as unsafe

5. Hi Kids!
It's Tommy the Taxi! Sure hope I don't shatter into a billion pieces when I impact any object at speeds of more than 10mph!
