Anybody remember the controversy this song created because of its downer message? Bonus question: remember the perky little answer song "Dawn of Correction" that was on the air for what seemed like about half a day and then was gone? (If you can remember who sang it, you've got a better memory than I have.)

4. Our PBS TV station ran a folk music special a while back...

and much to my delight, Barry Mcguire sang Eve of Destruction. He even included some updated lyrics (wish I could remember them). That song is every bit as strong today as when I first heard it was forty years ago.
