Holy Jesus Christ on a Buffet Table! (biggest loser spoilers)
Some dude just lost 30 pounds in 2 WEEKS!

I lost that much in Marine Bootcamp in 12 weeks, and it kicked my ass!

This show is fucking rigged.

8. Are you sure about that?
I thought he specialized in Moustache Rides.

12. Yes, he does run Mustache Rides, BUT, and this is important
unlike a Carnie, he does NOT have Def Leppard's "Pour some sugar on me" playing over the loudspeakers.

2. Yeah, but if you're severely overweight, and just starting,
weight comes off really quickly. When I was 280lbs and started losing weight, the first 40 lbs dropped off quickly. Not 2 weeks, but maybe 8-10 weeks.

7. Yeah, it comes off quick
or sometimes takes a while to get started, but 30 pounds is beyond reality. 2 pounds a day? 10,000 calories minus intake? As well as adding muscle weight?

Rigged.

11. Yeah, that does seem rigged when you do the math.
I think it's pretty damned hard to burn 10,000 calories in a day without killing yourself. In a good workout, I can MAYBE burn 800 or 900, maybe 1000 on a good day. That's about an hour to an hour and a half. So, I'd have to bust ass for 10 hours a day, give or take. No. Fucking. Way.

13. Well, it's certainly possible to do that
If, and that's a giant IF, you are conditioned to do so. You can't just start from having the most exertion in your life lifting the cushions looking for the remote to 10KC a day without your heart exploding.

And if you coupled that with a diet, your body would go into starvation mode and keep every puffed up fat cell it could.

17. Pedantic point. There are 3500 calories in a pound.

20. Okay 7000 calories
I know we saw them working their asses off, and I can respect that, but I just don't see THAT much being lost.

When you go into a crash course like that, your body resists, and holds fat as long as it can.

22. I agree. It's a ridiculous amount of weight to lose.
I don't think it's possible, either.

23. I can see how it could be lost that fast, but it would
require an amount of training that would put Green Berets to shame.

I think that even if a person just stopped eating for two weeks, they wouldn't lose weight that fast. It's just not natural.

very safe.

9. He wasn't that bad off
Granted, my experience with rapid weight loss was 182 to 151, and his was 274 to 240-something.

Still. I think the show was rigged.

10. i think Celebrity fit club is rigged as well, i believe the weight loss
but i don't believe the starting numbers. It took me almost 3 months to lose 30 lounds, so yeah i'm skeptical.

21. Starting weight...
I have a very hard time believing Chastity Bono started at 215, but the other weight seem plausible.

Two years ago, I took three months to lose 25 pounds, though granted I wasn't especially big to start with.

I'll be at the proper weight!

You're genius!!!

How did you do that?

and still went home with 40 extra pounds of water, most of it in my feet!

18. I've wondered about that before.
People seem to lose astonishing amounts of weight in 10 days-2 weeks.

24. Probably 15 of the pounds were water weight
If you stop eating carbs, you can drop quite a bit of weight in a few days, but it's cheater weight, not actually burning fat.
