I just love my MP3 player (I have a Sony Netman, 1gig but holds 638 songs). If anyone borrowed mine they'd fine everything Zeppelin on there (137 songs) and that when I work out I use some really great hard core industrial music like Marilyn Manson, NIN, Alice in Chains etc (the group is called Hard-Core Work Out and I have a set in there timed to just over 30 minutes - which I listen to for my ellipitical).

You'd also find everything ever released by Green Day and Queen (up to Jazz, I wasn't keen on Queen's music after Jazz). Plus a ton of Beatles and Yes.

So if I borrowed your MP3 player what treasures would I find hidden on it?

2. Depends on what you think is a treasure.
Gesualdo's Tenebrae Responses (hard to believe that they were written in 1610).

Some motets by Vierne and Widor - greatly undervalued as choral composers in favour of their organ works (some of which are on there too).

Other than that - a nice jolly through 500 years worth of music.

20. The only dancing queen
Is the owner, and he's pretty hideous at it.

I'm afraid not only is there no Abba, there's nothing which is not classical - though there will be some jazz when I get round to those C.D.s

4. mine's new and not fully loaded
However, here are some things you'd find:
lots of random sound effects from the BBC;
Slapp Happy albums, an obscure group from the 70s that I'm only familiar with because their member Peter Blegvad was also a member of the Golden Palominos
A Five Royales album: a pioneering R&B group that disbanded and turned to gospel but was very influential
The original version of that Whole Lotta Love song that Zep shamelessly stole from Willie Dixon
Otha Turner: world's greatest blues fife man

7. Lots of rock ...
I use my iPod Shuffle at the gym - I'm there when it opens and the old guy plays 50's music, while it can be cool, it's not optimal workout music, IMHO. Mainly:

Black Sabbath
Alice Cooper
Judas Priest
Stone Temple Pilots
Heart
Soundgarden
Queen
...

and some single tracks from artists.

Currently, an MP3 CD containing a bunch of 80's crap that I burned for a laugh :)
