I don't ever make bacon because it's a pain, so I was wondering if the pre-cooked is any good? Anyone? :hi:

5. I LOVE your avatar
:D

I hadn't priced it or anything, it only occurred to me it existed a few days ago. I mean, I've seen it in the store for ages, but the idea that I might actually PURCHASE some just caught up with me. :dunce:

22. Hey Thanks.
I used to use that as my avatar before, but I replaced it recently with something else for the holidays. The thread about classic cartoon characters reminded me to put it back.

8. We get it for our daughter. One of the few meats she will eat.
That way we don't have to fix a whole package. My wife and I don't eat much (health and indigestion reasons). Stuff does not taste bad, but not as good as freshly cooked bacon.

11. Isn't that the thing some 11 yr old girl invented
and subsequently made a katrillion dollars from? I think she was a gymnast or something and got the idea from the uneven parallel bars. :D

If you can find Nueske Brand bacon, their applewood-smoked veriety bacon is EXCELLENT, if a bit pricey. A few minutes in the oven (DON'T PAN_FRY IT!) and you've got yourself a porkparty, my friend.

You can order it fom Amazon.com, believe it or don't.

19. Oven?
You say the silliest things... :D

Actually, I've seen Alton Brown do the oven thing but it kinda worries me. Like, wouldn't all the splattering be a fire hazard?

20. Not at all. It doesn't splatter that much.
In fact, there's more of a hazard frying bacon on the stove top, since there's an actual opne flame (if you use gas, that is) directly underneath the pan. Plus most people frybacon at far too high a temperature.

Twenty minutes at 350 degrees should yield some FANTASTIC bacon. I should know, we use this brand at the Hopleaf. I'll never eat "regular" bacon again.

21. I do it in the oven all the time.
Just be careful taking it out. Bacon comes out a lot tastier and more evenly crisp.
