2. It's hell...
I just got back from the store...everyone is in there, stocking up for football. I KNOW Saturday is the worst day to shop, but I find myself doing it time after time after time:( It's just hellish...kids running around, people gossiping in the aisles, other people gliding around in a daze...fun fun.

3. I keep one of those magnetic lists on the fridge
and write things down I need as I go along - helps to not forget anything, it really does

5. I have to go too
but I seem to be procrastinating here at DU.

I have my list made, all I need to do is GET UP AND GO.

Just as a side note, my grocery bill has gone down from $175 every 2 weeks, to $125 since I went vegetarian. If I could get my husband to convert, it would go down even more!

19. frozen, chopped spinach
it comes in bags now- instead of those iceburgs with the wax boxes stuck in them- so you can grab a handful right out of the freezer and add it to anything. Everything. It is January, you need your greens.

21. i just got back and since I was on a very limited budget it took 3
stops

Natural Food Store: fresh veggies, meat (good sale) and bulk lentils (they were out of yeast  ) (lines when I came in, but by the time I was ready, walked right up no problem)

Dollar store: Dishwashing liquid, fabric softener and a sink strainer (they opened a register for me, no wait again!)

SuperMarket: Welch's Grape Jelly (the only kind DH will eat) milk, case of generic soda, cheese (another good sale) brownie mix (ditto) chips and Thai Kitchen extra virgin Fish sauce (on close out! 60% off!) OJ, and a couple TV dinners. (no lines there either!)

I had awesome shopping karma today

23. I want a shopping buddy
I don't hate grocery shopping so much as I hate waiting in line — which is why I switched from Albertson's, which never has enough checkstands open, to Target, whose selection is minimal but they have the easiest checkout of any store I've ever been in.

Still, I go only when I'm out of the basics, like bread and Dr Pepper. :7

24. there is always at least one thing I forget
even if I have a list. Often the thing that didn't get on the list. ;)

and then I end up getting stuff that wasn't on the list, but should have been.
