Finally, I got rid of Firefox! So fucking many little annoyances... |
|
that it was driving me crazy, from not recognizing some media devices to not highlighting after a million clicks...Good riddance!!!
I love my new browser, very fast and does most thing perfectly!

4. Just small conflict problems... |

with Media Player and Real Audio, that would not occur when I would click over to Explorer instead...and those same problems are gone now that I'm using Opera.
As well as Opera being the fastest downloading browser I've ever used, (I've tried five or six different browsers over the years).

I have never had problems with FireFox. And what is this about not recognizing media devices....do you mean having to redownload software like Flash?

5. I just found this apparently independent study on browser speed: |
|
this reviewer gives "mad props" to Opera and its speed and functionality, especially with regards to Windows. Firefox (which I've been using for a good year+) is actually optimized for Linux. I will definitely download Opera and give it a try!

As far as speed is concerned, I could go with Opera or Firefox on Windoze, and I wouldn't notice much. I ran into more issues getting certain non-standard pages to render when using Opera, which is the main reason I originally started using Firefox as from the ads in the former, which is no longer an issue.
Under Linux, I can't stand Opera. It's not really slow, but it has bizarre, inconsistent issues, and I can't seem to get media player plugin to work properly with it. (I know others who have, so I know it *can* work, but setting it up did not go smoothly the times I've tried it.)
As for speed under Linux, a number of very basic browsers exist that will run rings around either Firefox or Opera, but they don't have a lot of the features I want.

Never had a problem here.
Opera is a good browser, though, so as long as you haven't made the mistake of going back to IE, I'd say you're doing well. Whatever works for you and doesn't feed the beast is what you should use.
