8. Here is what I had planned, but didn't get to make.
I had a lot of stuff to do plus an emergency trip to the vet. Nothing serious, but Yogi was pacing himself silly looking for his food. It's a long story. I have to get the sensitive stomach dry food (Science Diet) and I can only get it at the vet's office. He's only open until 12:00 pm on Saturday. Well, they ran out last night. My aunt told me yesterday, but I was beat when I got home and decided to wait. They had enough in their dish to last overnight for certain.

Well, poor Yogi paced himself silly all night and all morning long. He ignored the food in the dish and kept looking all around the lard tin (the big metal tin can we use that hold the 35 lb. size bag.)

I have this thing about being hungry. I noticed just how much my stomach growls in classes early in the mornings at school. Great. Not only am I up at dawn, but I have to go hungry until 11:30. It's embarrassing too, because my stomach growls weird sounding and loud. Well, this morning I got up early specifically to go get the cat food before the vet closed. I got really hungry on the way back home after I picked the cat food up this morning, so I decided to get something from Captain D's.

Well, this is how worried little Yogi was about his food. Normally, he's a total mamma's boy and is beyond happy to see me when I get home. Before I left, I told him to stay and that mommy was going to go get his food and our food and that I would be back in an hour. Well, when I brought the Captain D's food in first and set it on the counter, he paid no attention to it. He loves fish and shrimp. Normally, he would be excited over fish, but he kept watching and waiting for his food.

Well, I brought the bag in and set it beside the can so we could eat. I thought I would be able to eat first and then put the bag in the can. He wouldn't quit pacing though. Halfway through eating, I had to quit and go put the bag of cat food in the can. Finally after that, he settled down. He started falling asleep sitting up not long after that. He does that during the boring parts of television shows he watches. I let him watch Teletubbies. He loves them. My aunt had some soap opera type movie on though this morning (Lifetime Movie Network.) Anyhoo, both Yogi and I found it boring, so he fell asleep sitting up. He was tired after all that worrying. Keep in mind now, that he had the last bit of fresh food in his dish the whole time. That's Yogi.

I guess next time I will go get his food before it runs out like I normally do.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention what I had planned on cooking today. Homemade vegetable soup (my version of it anyhow.) Here's my recipe:

1 lb. ground beef
1 onion chopped
3 medium sized potatoes cut to a decent small size
1 can of tomatoes
1 can of string beans or lima beans
1 can of corn
1/4 cup of chopped cabbage
Couple squirts of ketchup
Salt
Fritos

Cut cabbage fairly small. Dice onion. Brown ground beef and onion in frying pan. Place cabbage, ground beef, and onion in a soup pot, add a little pinch of salt (you know how much salt you prefer) and let it cook a while, maybe 20 or 30 minutes. When cabbage begins to cook and soften( this requires a taste test. I love taste tests. :P ).

Cut potatoes then open the cans of tomatoes, corn and string beans. Add them to the soup. Also, add a little more salt.

Also, add a couple of squirts of ketchup. My aunt and I disagree with each other over how much is too much ketchup. I say no amount of ketchup is too much, but she says about 2 tablespoons full is best. I prefer 4. :P Cook until potatoes are done. This requires another couple of "taste tests." I love taste tests.

If you still have an apetite left over (from all the taste tests) when dinner is done, dip up your soup and put about 1 handful of Fritos (or just a few at first to see if you like Fritos in your vegetable soup) in the bowl and chow down. Feeds a small army for one day or 2 people for 2 days if they pig out. Enjoy. :P
