1. IMO, the Huskies are Final Four material
I think they have a really good shot of going deep into the tournament.

I hate UCONN though. My fave team is Syracuse. :hi:

3. Being born and bred in CT
didn't help me become a UConn fan. I think being from here made me hate them more after they became the big shit, if you know what I mean.

4. They became the shit from PHENOMENAL effort and toil
I spent the majority of my life wishing that they would make the sweet 16 and then Jim Calhoun blew my mind - but not til 1999 did my sports dreams come true!

5. Oh no doubt
from effort and hard work. Coach Calhoun is a great coach. This state just jumped on the band wagon and got all crazy and shit. Where were these fans when UCOnn sucked??

I've always been a CUSE fan. We went through a lot of heart breakers before we finally won the big dance! :bounce:

6. I became a Uconn fan when I was 10 - 1985 - the Tate George years
Edited on Sat Jan-14-06 09:02 PM by ChavezSpeakstheTruth
That's where I was - my Dad took me to as many games as we could. Husky fans have been rabid sine long before any hope for a national championship was even something we could dream about.I

7. Tate George
I met him a few times. He was a nice guy.
HE showed up out of the blue at a football game at my high school. Don't know why he was there.

9. I'm older than you...
I remember a kid from your town named Corny Thompson going to UConn and that was a big deal... but, he went backwards each year at UConn and they never quite made the NCAAs. So many times in the 80s they were a bubble team that never quite made it.

10. I met Corny Thompson
he received a Gold Key from the CT Sports Writers Alliance a few years back.
Seemed like a nice guy, basically said Hi, I'm blah blah from the blah blah newspaper...

8. I know a guy like that
He grew up in the late 50s & early 60s and used to listen to UNC games on a Clear Channel station late at night... and, even though he went to UConn, he always hated them and loved UNC. He even had a standing invitation from Dean Smith (yes, that Dean Smith) to go to a game in Chapel Hill, but never went (he was too embarrassed)
