Question about meth labs & stuff?
I have a neighbor I'm pretty sure is up to no good. I've notice the last few months the shrimp loser hasn't had a job, when he has worked it's usually part time being gone 15-20 hours a week. His mommie & daddie bought him and his girlfriend the house and I'm sure they at least use to pay their bills for them. Last few months I haven't seen mommie and daddie around, so I think he's been selling drugs to get by. Last night I had just came home and was outside when a cop car came down the street no lights on and shined his spotlight on their house and left. 15 minutes after this I here a bunch of noise outside, I look out the window and I see the loser throwing a bunch of stuff (couldn't see what it was in the dark) into the back of his truck and driving away real quick. I go out later on last night and see a cop van at the end of the street parked on the side street with no lights on it. So I know something's up with all of this, but I've heard a air compressioner running at different times from over at this house the last couple of weeks and I was wondering is an air compressioner is used for making meth or some other kind of drug?

1. I have no idea
but there is some strange stuff that goes on in my neighborhood. Your situation sounds rather disconcerting. Good luck.

2. Talk to the cops if you have concerns like that
I did when I thought my neighbor was dealing coke, and I was right. They shut him down in a high profile raid a week later. I went in and made a formal complaint.

4. Sounds like the cops already know about him
- but it also sounds like he is on to them.

I have no idea about using an air compressor for the manufacture of any drugs...

5. Indications of a meth lab in the area...
Edited on Sun Jan-15-06 12:01 PM by lazarus
The most common physical evidence is an lingering ozone-like smell of something rotten mixed with ether and the house in question having what seems to be a lot of trash taken out. The fumes of distilling meth are very strong; can be smelled from up to a good 50 feet away. (The two meth cookers in my experience were foolish enough to be doing it in apartment complexes; the smell went through the central venting whenever they "cooked" and could affect every apartment in that block of the complex - and in one case, a neighbor's birds all got sick and died soon after the meth lab started up in one apartment - birds are very susceptible to the fumes. If grass and any plants in just one particular area of the house are yellowing unusually and that area seems to be "dead" - no birds or other wildlife hanging about that area, that can be an indication there's a lab in that area.

Other indications (not so certain)- there will also often be an area of the house that seems completely blocked off from normal household traffic - if, of course, they aren't using a spare bathroom or storeroom to cook in. I suspect that if they are cooking meth in a bathroom or some sort of utility/store room, the sound of the air compressor you've been hearing is probably some sort of venting system to mitigate the possibility of fires or explosions during the process and allow them to enter the area safely while in the process of cooking their product. Or it could be the bathroom vent going bad - that also has a nasty air compressor sound.

Your "friendly" neighbor might be smart enough not to sell out of the house (one of the other warning indications is increased traffic in and out of the house of the meth lab), but if he and/or his girlfriend seem to be making a lot of "deliveries", that could also be an indication there is some sort of home business going on.

Anyway, it does sound as if the police think there's something "interesting" going on. Just keep your head down, and don't be surprised at whatever happens.

Haele

(Edited because I didn't notice that my husband had logged me off last night and not logged off himself before he came to bed...damn, I thought I was still on my account!)

7. what's he building?
What's he building in there?
What the hell is he building
In there?
He has subscriptions to those
Magazines... He never
Waves when he goes by
He's hiding something from
The rest of us... He's all
To himself... I think I know
Why... He took down the
Tire swing from the Peppertree
He has no children of his
Own you see... He has no dog
And he has no friends and
His lawn is dying... and
What about all those packages
He sends. What's he building in there?
With that hook light
On the stairs. What's he building
In there... I'll tell you one thing
He's not building a playhouse for
The children what's he building
In there?

Now what's that sound from under the door?
He's pounding nails into a
Hardwood floor... and I
Swear to god I heard someone
Moaning low... and I keep
Seeing the blue light of a
T.V. show...
He has a router
And a table saw... and you
Won't believe what Mr. Sticha saw
There's poison underneath the sink
Of course... But there's also
Enough formaldehyde to choke
A horse... What's he building
In there. What the hell is he
Building in there? I heard he
Has an ex-wife in some place
Called Mayors Income, Tennessee
And he used to have a
consulting business in Indonesia...
but what is he building in there?
What the hell is building in there?

He has no friends
But he gets a lot of mail
I'll bet he spent a little
Time in jail...
I heard he was up on the
Roof last night
Signaling with a flashlight
And what's that tune he's
Always whistling...
What's he building in there?
What's he building in there?

We have a right to know...
