3. you splurged for the giant popcorn?
or do they do refils of all sizes (I can't imagine they would)...

I only did the free refill size once, and sold refills for a buck each in the theater to those with the non-refillable bags during Lake Placid... I made back the price of my ticket and corn.

FIGHT THE POWER!!!!

7. PLEASE! There are those who are DIETING and we don't want to
hear about the free giant refill and then about becoming BigMcLargehuge2...

See you at the movies!

In peace,

Radio_Lady

PS. I love buttered theater popcorn. It is my one insanity about once a month (we review about three movies every week). I'm jealous, that's all!!!!!

11. Dark humor! A funny story about obesity...
I got an email from a book publicist this month. She was promoting a book on sensible eating and used this phrase in her pitch email:

"ALL WOMEN WILL BE OBESE BY THE YEAR 2050!" I couldn't resist. I emailed her back and pointed out that:

"All women may be obese by the Year 2050, except those of us who are DEAD!" My husband likes to point out that a corpse is on the ultimate diet...

Ok. I'm through.

Never mind......

Did you and your husband enjoy it?

I'm sending you a PM in a moment......

9. I might see it alone (behind hubbys back)
The short story was sooo intense.... I cried to words on paper. I know my reaction would be so much stronger w/ pictures.

6. The short story was so good I AM AFRAID TO SEE THE MOVIE.
Will I be disillusioned? Is it really so good that the story will 'come to life'? Hubby will only go w/ me, and I am afraid that my story will be ruined. Hubby wants to see it. I am afraid of ruining my 'creation' - the one in my head, the one that was created w/ the reading of the story.

10. I never read the story
But the film was very well crafted and the characters were very well developed.

13. No, but once I said "Bun of a sitch!" on a radio show...
And there are several favorites of mine --

"The Duck and Doochess of Windsor"

There's one favorite about a president whose name was garbled but I can't remember it now.

Maybe you can.

I'm sleepy.

15. The "love scenes" were understated
and the film was simultaneously beautiful and heartbreaking.

32. Well, have you gotten off your A** yet? Not working tomorrow?
I hope you do get to see the movie. Most of us film reviewers have given it very high marks, and the public is laudatory, too. See this site for other information:

http://www.metacritic.com/film/titles/brokebackmountain

I expect it to get some awards at the Golden Globes tomorrow night 8 PM Eastern.

In peace,

Radio_Lady (film reviewer and broadcaster in Oregon)

19. I have not received my toaster oven
If that answers your question.

The movie, to me, was certainly not about gayness, but about not being able to be with the one you truly love. Heartbreaking.

23. hi there I went to see it today too and I am a girl and took
my boyfriend there. We both were just speechless and sat and watched the credits (something I never do.) If you approach it as a love story not just a "gay" love story, then it helps.

22. I am supposed to see it tomorrow if the weather doesn't suck.
rain turns to snow overnight here in CT and I have to drive about 16 miles to see it...

I read the short story also. I like Annie Proulx. I also enjoyed her book , "Shipping News" and the movie of version of the book, with Kevin Spacey wasn't too bad either..
