I heard about it in Maine. Personally, I'd like to see advertising be given for free or at reduced rates for political candidates since that is the top expense for major campaigns. That would allow candidates to run and be competitive without having to raise huge amounts of corporate cash.

With the money coming from the state, the candidate would not be beholden to the corporate donors....

They would be beholden to the VOTERS! What a concept! They could run on their ideas.......
