I remember Grampa giving me a glass of warm milk loaded with ginger. I had complained of a bellyache. "Here drink this Eddie." You would think since I was named after him he would have been kinder.

I hope this finds you well.

I received your book today. It probably arrived some time ago, to gauge by the postmark. But I have been staying with my Mom out of town for well over a week now, both of us sick. Finally home again today, it was waiting for me in the overstuffed mailbox.

I have read delicious bits of it already, with great anticiption for the rest. I will give it to my Mom to read when I am finished, and I know she will love it too. She is a nice lady.

God, but I adore your writing. But you already knew that after Kazuko. I'll send more feedback along, of course.

These cookies are rejects from the local cookie factory. One can buy a couple of pounds of reject cookies for a dollar or so.

My brother-in-law worked there long ago. He inadvertently invented a new cookie when he poured peanuts in the molasses batch.

He and the cookies were rejected as a consequence.
