Local TV news and poor wording in their stories.
I always watch the same local channel's news broadcast, mostly because I like the people, but also because they are always coming up with things like the following:

1. The meteorologist warned viewers to wear a hat in the cold weather because: "You lose half your body heat through the top of your head." Ummm, no. That would mean that there's a potential for my body temperature to drop to 49.3F degrees? Of course he should have said, "Half the body heat you lose is lost through your head."

2. A reporter in the field said, "The heart donor's family and the heart recipient reunited for the first time." How you can "re" anything for the first time?

:)

Just some little pet peeves of mine.
