Romantic Moves - what are the best?
OK, it's a lame copycat of Sherri's. But you know, her thread is well over 150 posts.

What's your favorite romantic move?

1. HONESTY. Complete, total honesty.
It is so seldom seen that women have not bothered to
prepare a DEFENSE against it for CENTURIES.

Of course, your mileage may vary.
With a silly name like mine, absolute unrelenting honesty
is really the only avenue of attack which was ever open to me.

29. Your mileage may vary is exactly right.
Honesty is best in small doses. If you can't tell the truth evade or shut up.

the future Mrs R when she was standing in fromt of me in the line for breakfast at that hotel restaurant...must've been damn good, though.

10. She doesn't remember either. I've asked.
Nor does she remember (any more than I do) what it was that I said at our wedding reception that was so inspiring that one of my cousins proposed to his girfriend on the spot after hearing my speech.

Again, it must have been damn good.

15. I was thinking of a play on words, like "draping your arm over their
shoulder at a movie"

Thinking about it though, I really don't know. For me, it is just a matter of sitting companionably with my wife and talking about everything in general and nothing in particular.

As far as any moves I might have, well -
I'm pretty shy, and blockheaded when it comes to some things - but I remember one time, as a teen, with my former fiancee on the Staten Island ferry in mid-winter. It was blustery and very cold and I took off my coat and put it around her & hugged her to keep her warm. She thought that was pretty nice.

Celebacy by choice, or by circumstance?

27. Both really. I was divorce at by an unfaithful spouse.......
unfortunately for me when I said I would love her forever part of me really meant it.

The choice comes in where I refuse to go to bars, or engage in behavior degrading to myself, others or my children in order to deal with my romantic needs. I actually really don't have much in the way of friends. A hermit in some ways.

I do not drink, smoke, use drugs, watch tv, or even own a single CD. I don't even drink coffee or sodas. I seem to be comfortable this way but others are taken a bit aback. So that's that. When I don't have my kids around I'm alone.

Maybe someday I'll join the rest of the world after work but no hurry.

25. Something my bf did that really got my attention---
I had mentioned off-hand that I really liked a certain type of bottled drink but that I hadn't had any in years. A few days later, when we had just gotten back from a long walk and I was thirsty and hot, he handed me one that he'd been keeping cold in the fridge. At that point it occurred to me that if he was listening so closely to me and acting on my random whims that he might just have a thing for me...:)

As for romantic moves...there's a scene in a Remington Steele episode that really gets to me. Remington and Laura are talking. He's standing behind the couch and she's in front of it. When they finish their conversation, he reaches across the couch, catches one of her belt loops with his fingers, pulls her toward him so that she ends up kneeling on the cushions, and kisses her over the back of the couch.
