On top of doing 8 loads of laundry and some food shopping and bill paying, I thought I'd take them to a matinee of the new Queen Latifah movie, called "The Last Holiday". Hopefully, it'll be fairly decent...

To answer your question from my point of view: The mind is far more powerful than most people realize. I remember when The New School in NYC started courses training individuals to work with Alpha and Beta Waves. We know that we only use a small portion of the brain, imagine increasing that by only 1/4th ...

Some of my friends believe that through meditation one may be able to manifest some events ~ thus the need to take great care with your thoughts ...

Especially for those of us who love playing with rocks and crystals.

Here is my wish for May 1st ...

Edited on Mon Jan-16-06 06:01 PM by wildhorses
green grass and high tides, sunrises and sunsets...

In a place you only dream of where your soul is always free
Silver stages, golden curtains, filled my head plain as can be
As a rainbow grew round the sun all the stars I've love who died
Came from somewhere beyond the scene you see these lovely people played just for me

If I let you see this place where stories all ring true
Will you let me past your face to see what's really you
It's not for me I ask these questions as though I were a king
For you have to love, believe and feel before the burst of tamborines take you there

Green grass and high tides forever
Castles of stone souls and glory
Lost faces say we adore you
As kings and queens bow and play for you

Those who don't believe me, find your souls and set them free
Those who do, believe and love as time will be your key
Time and time again I've thanked them for a peace of mind
They helped me find myself amongst the music and the rhyme that enchants you there

Green grass and high tides forever
Castles of stone souls and glory
Lost faces say we adore you
As kings and queens bow and play for you

69. Oh c'mon, Fox!
Your life definitely serves a purpose, but only YOU can figure out what that is.

We just recently saw "City Slickers" with the kids. Have you seen it? Great little movie. Very funny and touching. In it, the big tough cowboy, Curly, played by Jack Palance, says the secret of life is just "one thing", but each person has to come to whatever that one thing is on their own.

I happen to disagree, in terms of it being only ONE thing, but I agree it has to be self-determined.

Anyway, my thoughts on the matter, for whatever their worth. For the record, I appreciate your presence here in the lounge.

80. Cuz that would've been too boring, plus, not enough people to kill.
It certainly made for a compelling story to have it set in modern times. What I thought was fascinating, in a dark kind of way, was how the characters at first assumed they were under attack from TERRORISTS. Speilberg really played that card brilliantly, imo.

82. I didn't quite express myself clearly.
Your spirit name, Shine, sparked
a memory of some years I spent in the San Joaquin Valley.
The fog was mystical for me.
I felt I was close to another world in the fog.

Don't you feel as if you can appreciate others more if you are making sure to take time for yourself?? That's certainly the case on my end, anyway.

:hi: supernova!

85. HAHAHA! It's an obsession that gives my life meaning right now
I'm obsessed with the band INXS, but not the new band since they had that reality show, the original band from the 80s. Yup, it's good stuff. :P
