I Just Got a Daily Planner!! Woo-woo!!!
Like in mid-January, instead of waiting til July. And it isn't one of those company freebies, either. *digs in pockets of Planner* it has pockets for all your notes, and a binder, sections for addresses, to-do lists, calendars, maps, and metric weights & measures. I've seen other people use these, but I never figured I could rate, you know?

My boss looked at me like I was nuts when I told him I was getting one. Read: "YOU have a life?" WELL. I just MIGHT outside work. I can't wait to start filling it in from my address book. Planners are for plans, and I have some!

Organization, here I come. :D

WRITE BRIDGIE! :hi: :loveya:

See? I knew you'd appreciate a little something. Like a planner, I mean. Also, I'm reminding myself in my next PM to you about how your reply to me on a now-locked thread was sung 5 minutes before by visiting boyfriend.

:bounce: :toast:

10. you know, i see other, perhaps more organized, detail oriented...
folks using them and so i do i wonder, "is this a device, however seemingly passive, i should incorporate into my chaotic little swirl-of-a-life? hm..."

my friend Curtis has one, and when we ask him if he & Ed might care to go out for a drink he flips it open and BAM! already bulging it bursts with forth data; every single little log entry dealie is filled for 2 & 3 months in advance w/scribbles up the margins and i think, "geez, would you look at that. i wouldn't even have that much to do in a month of sundays" but then somehow he comes up with a,

"yes; i see i have here some time for a drink on (such and so forth)" and we get our drink on.

but now that you have ventured forth into the organized world, Mine Czarina, i have the faith of a born again taoist B-)

17. Aaaah,
I LOVE that. The sidenotes & the lists. My listmaking also has to go somewhere but those scratch pads they give us at work (athough those'll do). I want this thing I can heave out of my rucksack & check- just to be sure.

We shall get our drink on at least in six months, that I can promise you. My brother has no idea of the "new me" and I'll surprise him in Cali, making sure- THIS TIME- we meet. (You & me)

:loveya:  :yourock:

11. Hey, beautiful! How are you?
Hey, guess what? NNNS offered to get me a "Franklin Planner" today, but I didn't know what that was. He said, "They have a website" and I was like, "A website for Planners"? :scared: I'm such a die-hard luddite that I freak myself out scouring the unknown sometimes.

I paid about $12 for a drugstore planner, and here I am, as excited as all hell. Like I had to share it with everyone. :7

26. Tell him he can get me one instead! I didn't know they had
a website either. I am such a bad person I almost considered bookmarking it. I don't know why I think that a "Franklin" Planner would make any difference. :hi:  :pals:

12. *Well*, it's a drug store off-brand.
I secretly harbored the notion that I may get my hands of one of those much-coveted leatherly-bound beauties. And I fear that when I find one, I'll have to get it & re-copy everything.

You love your day planner? What do you do with it? ;)

Really, though, do you depend on it? Is it all dog-earred and full of notes? I'll bet yours is.

13. It is full of notes but not dog-eared. But then, it's in a leather case.

Mine was originally a Franklin Planner - real beauty, that I got for half price at a office supply just off Wall Street that went out of business a few months after 9-11.

For a couple years, I used Day Runner inserts because I preferred them, but finally, for this year, Franklin Covey came up with a really nice one-day-a-page calendar, so that's what I'm using this year. These go from 5 am to 11 pm, and have a column for to-do things, which is PRECISELY what I have wanted for the last 10+ &%@^&$&# years.

I don't quite depend on it, since I have a pretty accurate memory of what all my appointments and stuff are for a good week or more at a time, but I do depend on it in the sense of helping me remember things I agree to do months in advance. :-) So in that sense, yes, I would be totally lost without it - or leasts, without some kind of calendar.

I tried to use a PDA for a year, but that was a useless goddamn pain in the ass. I've also tried using an electronic calendar on the computer, but that also is a goddamn pain in the ass.

Give me paper!!!!

18. I've been accused of being a scatterbrain.
And what's "scatterbrain" in the wealth of words I could come up with against my accusers? However, the paper keeps me completely tied in. I know no doubt when I see something of mine on paper. Give me the paper & the tools, and I can do without the rest.

I can't do this sort of thing electronically. And I think you're a prince. :D

24. Scatterbrains DEFINITELY need a day planner!
Of course, the trick for the scatterbrain is to remember to HAVE the day planner with him/her. :-)

Electronically is way over-rated. Paper never loses its power or its memory. It never crashes. Its battery never dies. Its screen never fails. Its software never erases your shit. Its software never duplicates entries an hour later or earlier (I've had that happen!) for many years, all in moment. Nope, whenever one looks at paper, one knows for sure that's written is precisely and only what one has written.

And thanks for thinking I'm a prince!

I got one for this year and have been doing pretty well so far.
Then I looked for it this morning, realized that it's in my portfolio-
which is at my studio! So, I'm thinking of a chain to attach it to my belt loop.
