First show is hilarious. I just started watching the whole season last year. I plan on it again this year. AI hasn't been too bad at picking them: Kelly Clarkson's Breakaway is very good, and Carrie's CD is solid. Bo's CD is a disappointment, but he still has talent. Fantasia's also pretty talented.

7. Fantasia was wasted on CD. Her AI performance of "Summertime"...

...gave me the supremest of chills. It was jaw-droppingly great, and justified sitting through so many other craptacular performances.

They should've recorded more of that kind of thing for her album. But, sadly, no.

what I've heard tends to be a little slow. Wish she would show off her voice like she does on "Summertime."

Carrie surprised me on CD. She really is a better interpreter than I thought. And there's some real emotion in the lyrics.

Kelly's my fave so far. I'm not crazy about ones like Justin Guarini, Clay Aiken, Diana DeGarmo, Ruben Studdard, Scott Savol..

Anwar definitely has potential - we agree there.

I think Nadia should have gone further. I don't think her song selection at the end was perfect, but I'd like to see her do a CD. Vocally, she was up there with everyone on AI.

Kelly Clarkson, though, has turned out to be a pleasant surprise.
