Anyone starting school again tomorrow? |
|
For some reason, I am oddly nervous about this term. It's that "mid-college" panic, I suppose.
(I graduate next year. I'm sill in denial about this).
I'm in great shape academically despite being a double major-- I should have my English degree wrapped up after this term, and then I should only have 1 more lab + 3 Bio electives for my bio degree to handle next year :woohoo:

but I'm nothing more than a loser dropout (I was one semester away from graduating) working overnight at a grocery store.
No, I'm not bitter about it...:sarcasm:

My dad's a bum and won't file his taxes-- hence no financial aid.

It's from a culmination of things on why I'm not going back...
I plan on returning to college in the fall of 2007 if all goes as planned.
Until then, I'll be stocking shelves, mopping up puke (last night really sucked), and working cash registers at 3 am.

8. Well, my class doesn't start |
|
until next Thursday evening, the 26th, but it'll be the first college class I'll be taking in ten years. I already have my BA and a paralegal certificate, but right now I'm working with the Lakota Sioux in both Rapid City SD and the Pine Ridge reservation so I've decided to take some Lakota Studies classes at Oglala Lakota College in Rapid City.
I'm starting with Lakota Culture beginning next Thursday. I know the basics, since I've been studying the Lakota on my own for many years, but it'll be nice to get some formal education in it as well as other Lakota subjects. And my college sociology and psych classes (soc was my minor) will come in handy, too. I'm excited, actually. It'll be weird buying textbooks again, at my age, and I'll probably be one of the few whites in the class, which should also be an interesting experience.

I'm still at home and I plan on driving back down in the morning. I live an hour away from school and I don't have class til 12:15. I guess I'm sucking out all the break that I can. But if you want some panic wait til next year. I graduate in June and still have no idea about what I'm going to do with my life
