OT: I got called a communist by some guy in the paper who was responding to my LTTE about Ann Coulter. I fired off a response yesterday. Hopefully they will print it. This guy is a complete moran.

I guess I missed the part when the Letters to the Editor section of your paper became a message board allowing letters criticizing your readers for their replies to an editorial. I wrote a letter to your paper regarding the ‘public figure’ Ann Coulter and her reprehensible hate speech and one or your readers responded by calling me Comrade. I would like to present just a few of the hate filled things Ms. Coulter has uttered to Mr. Lofland, and then I will let this go, as I have absolutely no desire to have a battle of wits with an unarmed man.

“We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That's war. And this is war.”

“My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times Building.” Her only regret? She doesn’t regret the loss of innocent lives? Yup, I would sure hitch my wagon to her star.

“God says, "Earth is yours. Take it. Rape it. It's yours." Ms. Coulter’s ‘Biblical’ interpretation.

"Press passes can't be that hard to come by if the White House allows that old Arab Helen Thomas to sit within yards of the President." Helen Thomas, for those who do not know is one of the most respected journalists of all time.

And regarding his assertion that liberals cannot be trusted to lead the United States, I present just some of the advancements provided by liberals and fought tooth and nail by conservatives. The Bill of Rights, Weekends (40 hour work week), Child labor laws
End of Slavery, World War II, Minimum wage (50% of those on minimum wage are over the age of 25), Rural electrification, Clean Air and Clear Water, The Civil Rights Act.
