That is IT! You can no longer drive if I'm on the road...
You in the blue car. Yes, you! The one who made a right turn from the left lane.

You, the woman with the kid in the mini-van. Yes, you! The one who just HAD to make a turn in front of me, forcing me to put on my brakes, even though there were no other cars behind me.

You, the numbnuts in the white truck with "W04" sticker in the window. Yes, you! You just had to cut me off so you could make it across the street, again when there's no other cars behind me! If you had waited 10 lousy seconds it never would have been an issue for either of us.

You, the cute little couple in the small red car. Yes, you! Who were stopped at the light waiting for it to change while I'm trying to make a turn onto the street you're on. Oh, you didn't notice it wasn't a one-way street and that's why you were chatting happily in the WRONG lane?

I swear. People get stupider every year. I see a serious lack of turn signal use. I see a total lack of consideration on the part of drivers.

I used to believe that people should get their license and do their eye test every 5 years. Now I think it should be mandatory for everyone to retake their drivers test to see if they can perform the act of driving in a safe and sane manner.

OK, my rant is over. Thank you for your time.

2. The other day, I saw a man in the "completely" wrong lane...think
oncoming traffic here...talking on his cellphone. I gotta agree with you. :hi:

3. Nope, I'm with ya
No. 1 on my list for the pet peeves thread yesterday was that people no longer seem to know that turn signals come standard equipped on all cars nowadays.

4. Only valid if you clearly mark the highway as your own.
I'm considering legally changing my first and last names to "I-285" and "I-20," respectively.

6. that list could be 20x longer.
i've had my driver's license for 18 yrs. when i got mine you had to take a paper test and a road test. i actually knew people who failed it back then.

i think that now all you have to do is ask for it. if you are from a country where most people don't have cars, that's a plus and you will be issued a dl when you first set foot in america.

8. I'm totally with you there
Personally, I'm a pedestrian, and it seems it's just as bad for pedestrians too. It pisses me off to no end! Let me give an example.
One day last winter, when there was snow and ice all over the place, I needed to walk down to the library to get tax info for my SO while he was at work. It was in the teens and I was freezing my ass off, but I promised I would get it done so I had to get it done.
On my way back home from the library, I got up to an intersection. It was a small street crossing a main street; I was on the main street sidewalk. There was a couple of cars there, and one turned just as I made it to the intersection- no big deal. But after they turned, seeing as how there was a stop sign there, I started to cross. And as I started to cross, the next car hit the gas so they didn't have to wait for me to cross- here I am, now, in 17 degree weather, now with slush sprayed on my legs. Simply because this person in a most likely heated car couldn't wait 10 seconds. Thankfully the person behind that car was a lot nicer. And I still had another 10 minutes of walking. Legs soaking wet.
People suck.

9. Yeah, well I'd be....
...driving.... on a two lane rural road....with no other cars behind me for miles and miles and , of course, the
tractor or combine or some other kind of big-ass farm equipment has to enter the road just as I near them.
And then... I have to slam on my brakes as the tractor slowly turns onto both lanes of the road and then creeps on down the road.

Tikki
ps... I really respect farming...just not thoughtless drivers.

10. Ugh. I hear ya.
You! You in the left lane running 10 under the speed limit next to the big truck so that no one can pass you, on the highway, for a mile and a half? MOVE OVER! Thank you.

13. My travel pet peeves:
*Assholes who stand in the doorway on the subway, thus making it more difficult for people to get on and off the train.

*Kids who don't take their giant-ass backpacks off while on a crowded train, thus giving them the footprint of two people.

*Folks who feel that their bags are more in need of a seat than other people on a crowded transit vehicle.

As a pedestrian, it's dipshits who try to make left turns into me and assholes who ignore the pedestrian crossovers on my street. Several people in town are killed every year due to the latter.

On the infrequent occasions that I drive these days, pet peeve #1 is dumbasses who do 20 mph on onramps to expressways as if that makes it safer to merge into 70 mph traffic.

14. I've always just thought it should be much, much harder to get a license
I'm pretty sure a chimpanzee could have duplicated what I remember doing on my driving test.
